This is a larger size canvas 24"x 36" that my wife asked me to do for one of our rooms. She was happy with the result :) I had it framed and it looks not so bad, what do you think?
This bunch of paint brushes I have in on of several ceramic jars. I said; They're under my nose all the time, why not make a painting of them? Here it is, oil on canvas panel 11"x 14"

I placed a china teacup over an earth color napkin and added a lime next to it. Painted it impasto in oil on a canvas panel 5"x 7" I find it to be fun working on a small scale size, right now I have only one easel and it's to big for the small paintings. I don't want to paint flat on a table. I must find a small easel.

My wife was preparing a meal in the kitchen and I saw her pulling a couple or red onions from a bag, that's when I was inspired to paint at least one onion (I didn't want to interfere with our dinner) so I just placed over a white cloth and painted it. This painting was made in oil on canvas 8'x 10" I hope you like it! By the way the onion tasted delicious! :)

For this painting I did some time ago I took a blue glass bottle, one egg and some limes. Place the objects on a wooden shelf and painted it in oil, on canvas 14"x 18". Light was natural but dim, made the look I wanted for my painting.
For very long time I did most of my work on "clariobscuro" style. Recently I'm shifting a bit out of it to see what happens. I believe that one should try different ways until you find your 'real' niche. :)
This is a painting I made last week, it's oil on canvas panel 12"x 16".
I tried to make it as simple as I could, took a white vase, inserted some flowers and placed it on a white satin cloth. It looked simple but it wasn't, the satin cloth had countless creases and created a funny effect with light and shadow. But here it is.

For this painting that I titled "Silver ring" I used oil on canvas panel size 12"x 16". My main interest was to get the silvery color effect of the ring as well as the finger nail's.
Somehow I was intrigued by doing a hand with a ring, looked around and finally found what I wanted. Believe it or not this painting is one of my favorites.
I've just finished painting this picture that I titled "Rose bud", oil painted on canvas panel 8"x 10". I used the Phtalo Blue direct from the tube to get the intensity of the blue container. I found it to be more difficult to do the leaves that the rest of the painting. I hope that this painting is of your satisfaction. I encourage you to opine on my work. Thank you!

The title of this blog is correct, I'm painting again! After a long hiatus from painting I have returned to paint in oil. I'm committing more of my time to painting in all different sizes and themes. My hope is to one day become a member of a daily painter group and be able to sell my work. When you see my work on the blog, write me a comment or question, I answer all my comments.
